Compositional noise in nozzles with dissipation

چکیده

We propose a physical model to predict indirect noise generated by the acceleration of compositional inhomogeneities in nozzles with viscous dissipation (non-isentropic nozzles). First, we derive quasi-one-dimensional equations from conservation laws multicomponent flows. Second, validate proposed experimental data available literature for binary mixtures four gases. Third, calculate nozzle transfer functions different Helmholtz numbers and friction factors, both subsonic supersonic flows with/without shock waves. show that have significant effect on generation noise, which mechanism is identified explained. Fourth, find semi-analytical solution path integrals, provides an asymptotic expansion respect number. Fifth, introduce compositional-noise scaling factor, applied quickly estimate knowledge only one single-component gas function. The approximation error less than $1\,\%$ . low-order accurate estimates insight into This opens up new possibilities accurately predict, understand, sound turbines.

Noise generated by multiple-jet nozzles with conical profiles 287.

Conical multiple-jet nozzles, which reduce the risk of nozzle openings being blocked, are tested for their effectiveness in noise reduction. Nozzles with different exit spacings are tested. It is found that the multiple-jet design significantly decreases noise levels in the audible range by shifting emitted sound power to higher and ultrasonic frequencies. No significant difference in noise cha...

Fluctuation Dissipation Relation for a Langevin Model with Multiplicative Noise

A random multiplicative process with additive noise is described by a Langevin equation. We show that the fluctuation-dissipation relation is satisfied in the Langevin model, if the noise strength is not so strong. keywords fluctuation-dissipation theorem, Langevin equation, multiplicative noise, Levy flight.

Dissipation, noise and DCC domain formation

The possibility of forming disoriented chiral condensate (DCC) in relativistic heavy ion collisions has generated considerable research activities in recent years. The idea was first proposed by Rajagopal and Wilczek [1–4]. They argued that for a second order chiral phase transition, the chiral condensate can become temporarily disoriented in the nonequilibrium conditions encountered in heavy i...

Noise and Dissipation on Coadjoint Orbits

We derive and study stochastic dissipative dynamics on coadjoint orbits by incorporating noise and dissipation into mechanical systems arising from the theory of reduction by symmetry, including a semidirect product extension. Random attractors are found for this general class of systems when the Lie algebra is semi-simple, provided the top Lyapunov exponent is positive. We study in details two...

Geologic Nozzles

Sonic velocities of geologic fluids, such as volcanic magmas and geothermal fluids, can be as low as 1 m/s. Critical velocities in large rivers can be of the order of 1-10 m/s. Because velocities of fluids moving in these settings can exceed these characteristic velocities, sonic and supersonic gas flow and critical and supercritical shallow-water flow can occur. The importance of the low chara...
